Dr. Kathleen Fearon's road to becoming a small animal veterinarian was not a typical one. She became fascinated with research while an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and went on to receive her M.S. from UCLA. After completing the Ph.D. program in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Massachusetts, she pursued her passion for research as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. It was during this exploration that she decided to go to veterinary school, where she received her D.V.M. from Auburn University.
After working at several veterinary clinics in the Stratford area, she decided to bring her expertise to clients in their own homes, opening Home Veterinary Services as a mobile practice in 2003. After several years on the road, she grew roots and settled across from Trumbull’s Town Hall, where she enjoyed offering compassionate care to her patients in the comfort of a 1918 Craftsman-style home for 15 years.
Dr Fearon has completed extensive training in veterinary acupuncture, Tui Na, and herbal medicine. She now enjoys practicing an integrative approach to animal care, enhancing the quality of life for her patients through a combination of conventional and holistic medicine. Known for her thoughtful, patient-centered approach, Dr. Fearon strives to improve the quality of life for every animal under her care while building strong, supportive relationships with their families. With a view to focusing on the wonderful relationships fostered during her many years in Trumbull, Dr Fearon is currently only taking clients at Changing Tides who are previously known to her.
